P A P E R C H A I N S

This was a spontaneous and playful project with its only intention being to subvert the original intentions of a sales catalogue, then experimenting with it and just to ‘see what happens’. One rainy day, I began to make paperchains from old IKEA catalogues. Originally I thought I would use them to decorate the house for Christmas. However, the following day I took them out into the garden and the forest and hung them across and around trees where they blew in the breeze, creating fabulous shapes and movement - a living but very temporary sculpture. I took a series of photographs of the chains in many different locations and arrangements both in the garden and in the forest.
