AMPHIBILIVING: imagining a future living with water

mariah skellorn

artist photographer

Pre-adaptation, 2012

The series depicts British mammals using a variety of objects to help them to survive in their habitat which has turned into a boggy salt-marsh due to flooding.

The artist’s approach to addressing the contentious issue of the environment is often to use humour. By presenting unrealistic attempts to find solutions to environmental problems the artist aims to engage an audience through amusement and curiosity.
